Amanda Barber
Previously a partner at GVA Grimley, Amanda has over 35 years' experience in the retail petroleum, automotive and roadside sectors. Amanda's specialist areas include property investment and funding; expert witness and litigation support; complex landlord and tenant cases; development feasibility and funding and sector research and analysis.
Amanda has developed a diverse range of services and skills - from acquisitions, disposals, and lettings, through to Landlord & Tenant Act matters, including rent reviews, lease renewals and advising in respect of lease terms. She is a member of the President of the RICS Panel of Independent Experts and Arbitrators, and was a member of the (former) RICS Trade Related Valuation Committee and was responsible for drafting the Guidance Notes and the Information Paper for the valuation of petrol filling stations.
Amanda's experience in the retail petroleum, automotive and roadside sectors, working on behalf of oil companies, independent petrol retailers, institutions, property companies and private individuals, has enabled her to be fully conversant with the issues that influence the market, both from the owner-occupier and investor perspective. She is also an RICS Registered Valuer.
Amanda's passion for "brake horse power" extends from cars to horses and having kept horses and competed in her early years, loves to spend her spare time riding and training her daughters for horse trials.
Adam Wadlow
Adam previously worked with Amanda at GVA Grimley for five years in the national Automotive and Roadside team in Birmingham, but moving to the London office in 2007 to start up a new team, working alongside the national Investment Department. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).

Robin Baker
Formerly a Director within CBRE’s Petroleum & Automotive team, Robin has over 14 years’ experience in providing specialist property advice to owners and occupiers within the petroleum and automotive sectors.
Robin’s specialism covers vehicle dealerships, petrol filling stations, motorway service areas, workshops and roadside retail.
Robin’s principal areas of expertise include property acquisition and disposal on both a leasehold and freehold basis, valuation, landlord and tenant matters, development advice, asset management, and corporate real estate. He is also an RICS Registered Valuer.
Whilst not quite Tour de France material, Robin likes nothing better than donning the old cycle shorts and doing long cycle rides around the UK and Europe.
Sharn Mann
Prior to working for Barber Wadlow, Sharn worked with Amanda and Adam at GVA Grimley as a secretary for 19 years.
Sharn's experience within the property sector, having worked very closely with Amanda, has given her a very broad knowledge of property matters and this has helped in assisting both Directors with research and market testing projects.
Sharn's organisational skills help in maintaining client records and she is the client relationship manager. Indeed, given Sharn's understanding of a client's business and property requirements, her liaison with various clients over the years has meant that they can be confident of contacting her and being their first port of call in many instances given her capabilities of being able to assist them very quickly and effectively, and sometimes without detailed involvement from the Directors.
Sharn enjoys going to the theatre and travelling. Her passion for weekend jaunts knows no bounds - other than where it may be curtailed by a long haul flight!
Alexandra Hess

More recently, she was marketing and online communications officer at Darby Keye Property where her primary role was to enhance the overall presence of the company profile, before joining Barber Wadlow.
Alexandra is experienced in agency negotiations and management issues. Recent examples include the successful sale of three sites on behalf of a retained client at over book values. She is also an RICS Registered Valuer.
Alexandra is a keen skier who likes nothing more than to hit the slopes as often as possible, followed by the aprés ski, of course! She is also a ski instructor having completed the CSIA Instructor Course, teaching both children and adults.
